About upper eyelid surgery

Whether you’ve always wanted more opened-up eyes or your eyes have seemed to dim with age, Dr. Bloom’s upper eyelid surgery has the ability to achieve a brighter, more refreshed appearance to the eyes. Some patients experience eyelid skin that’s so droopy or puffy that it even impairs their vision. Upper eyelid surgery removes this excess skin and fat and lifts the eyelids in a natural-looking way to rejuvenate the entire eye area.

What upper eyelid surgery does

  • Creates a more wide-eyed, refreshed, and youthful appearance
  • Restores the brightness and expression of the eyes
  • Improves “hooding” on the upper eyelid
  • Reduces puffy eyelids
  • Firms up sagging or loose skin and lax muscles
  • Raises excess skin to improve impaired vision

What happens during an upper eyelid surgery?

Dr. Bloom’s upper eyelid surgery is performed under local anesthesia and perhaps sedation. He makes an incision inside a crease of the upper eyelid (which is concealed once it’s healed) and excises the excess skin. Once completed, he customizes the procedure to address your unique needs and closes the incisions with sutures. The procedure takes approximately one hour.
